There appear to be some issues with the regular expression engine and Japanese characters. This can cause crashes or features to not work correctly. If you regularly work with Japanese text, you may want to hold off on v4.0 until a fix is available.
Update: This issue has been address in v4.0.1.
I updated it without seeing this article.
