skEdit Update

Published September 30, 2007

I've just sent the ninth beta of skEdit v4.0 out to the testers. If all goes to plan, this will be the last beta. There will be at least one release candidate with updated documentation, finalized localizations, and fixes for any show-stopper issues that come up during testing. It's been a long road to v4.0, but the end is in sight.

It is looking really great, I'm so glad there is Ruby/Rails support now. This is now my default editor over TextMate.

Though it seems the SVN plugin isn't working for me and I'm not sure if it is the bug that is mentioned on the plugin page. I'm pretty sure I ran SkEdit before I installed the plugin, though when I create a new project from a SVN checkout dir the SCM menu doesn't let me update/commit and refreshing the SCM status does nothing.

How's the ninth beta testing coming along so far?

I'm really looking forward to this release. I use skEdit professionally every day and have been for a couple of years now. I'm super excited about v4.0!

Keep up the good work!

Hi Sean, I have stopped getting beta updates. Can you check to see if I am still on your list? If not, can I be added back.

Thanks!

Maybe I missed it, but what is the upgrade path for v4.0? Just wondering. I love this program already and look forward to seeing what 4.0 has in store.

v3.6.2 and earlier have come with free lifetime upgrades, so v4.0 will of course be a free upgrade for all licensed users.
