skEdit v4.1

Published April 19, 2008

I have just posted v4.1 of skEdit. v4.1 is a free upgrade for all licensed users and includes bug fixes and a few small features. Download v4.1.

Changelist:

  • Added ActionScript support
  • Added integrated software update feature
  • Added option to store project configuration files in a standard location rather than in each project
  • Split views now remember their widths
  • Allow multi-file search and replace on specific files
  • Tabs show the full path as a tooltip
  • Improved and expanded the JavaScript code completion and syntax highlighting definitions
  • Fixed bug where typing in the middle of a multi-line comment or quote would syntax highlight incorrectly
  • Fixed bug where a remote-only project would not always download the latest version of a file
  • Fixed exception that could be thrown when closing tabs
  • Fixes for a few crashers
  • Fixed a few FTP file listing parsing bugs
  • Fixed a few syntax highlighting bugs where code sections were incorrectly closed
  • Fixed a bug where the color for invisible characters was not used
  • Fixed a bug where skEdit would use an incorrect line break type
  • Fixed a few minor UI glitches

excellent upgrade, the feature list looks great. awesome to know that you listen to your users and incorporate suggestions, love that the project files are separated from the project directory.

cheers! will continue to use skEdit for work and home.

Sean, thanks for fixing the ftp problem. Would be nice to know what the international version does different than the English version... (beta). Does it have translated menues? I know someone who worked on the dutch translation, but I couldn't see any results of that as of yet.

Keep up your great work on this wonderfull application! Thanks.

The betas come in English-only and International versions to save a bit of bandwidth. The only difference is that the International version has localized resources. There should be no behavioral differences.

can skedit add a local file version system like eclipse?

or just intergrate a version system, like git

redarmy on May 6, 2008 #

skEdit does include support for Subversion. Support for other version control systems may be added in the future.

Just discovered skEdit and downloaded the trial. I have been looking for a good Mac editor of a long time and was tired of having to make comprimises. This looks like the editor that combines all my favourite features into one editor without the stuff I don't need, and it looks good.

Thanks.

ps Would love if you could add Smarty tpl support
