skEdit v4.1.2

Published October 5, 2008

I have just posted v4.1.2 of skEdit. v4.1.2 is a free upgrade for all licensed users and includes stability improvements and bug fixes. Download v4.1.2.

Changelist:

  • Added support for @import references when indexing CSS
  • Fixed bugs where skEdit could get into a bad state if the remote connection was lost mid-save.
  • Fixed bugs where "Delete File" sometimes would not work correctly in a remote project.
  • Fixed bug where skEdit would revert back to the default bundle on save after you had chosen a custom bundle.
  • Added support for the end* PHP keywords.
  • Fixed bug where skEdit would sometimes change the group of the file on save.
  • Changed behavior of PHP code-completion so that you typing the opening <?php won't complete to php_ini_scanned_files().
  • Fixed (I think) a bug where the line number would become distorted while scrolling.
  • Fixed a bug where "Close Tag" would sometimes close the wrong tag.
  • Fixed bug where skEdit would chose strange apps, like VLC, as the default browser.

Back to skEdit after a long absence. Really haven't used version 4 yet. But after looking through the documentation for 4 I was wondering if we can still create our own icons and script actions for the toolbar like we could in 3 and store them in custom bundles? I want to be able to launch the external API docs for my programming language, amongst other things.

Cheers.

In my project my source files don't seem to remember the language selected for them to use between application restarts.

Which brings me to a question. Is it possible for a custom language bundle to inherit the settings and extend upon those of another bundle?

Cheers.

I think you may have skEdit confused with another application. User-created icon could never be added to the toolbar.

Bundles do not support inheritance at this time.

Doh! You're right I'm thinking of SubethaEdit! Jeez sorry about that.

Cheers.

Any news? Would be great to see more code completion (django, anyone?) in skedit. Or any news at all.. :(

I've been very busy with my day job, so have not had much time for skEdit. I do plan to get back to it when I can.

Thank you very much for your quick reply! :)

Happy anniversary! :-) It's been a year now since the last update.

Hi, Sean.

Any progress on nailing down that unfortunate tendency of skEdit to not auto-complete from my external .css file? Like the last poster (kinda-sorta) said, haven't heard from you in a while.

Just dropping a line to say that I hope you're doing well Sean and that life is good.

I use your app every single day, I really rely on the way you've implemented snippets amongst other things. Do you have any plans on a v5? I don't want to get stuck with an OS update that might cripple my beloved text editor.

I've been too busy with my day job to spend much time on skEdit since the last release. Not sure when I'll be able to get back to it.

Hi Sean, just dropped in to see if there was any reports of updates coming?

Skedit is pretty flawless for me, but I always like to see progress and updates, just to make sure the product isn't dead.

I see you posted a few months ago about having no plans for Skedit. 8-( Is this to be taken as meaning that the project is dead, on terminal hiatus, or ??

Anyways, hope all is well and wish you the best.
