Sloccount is the new *
Published January 7, 2005
After reading about sloccount at a number of places, I just had to try it out on the souce code of skEdit. Here are the numbers:
- Total Physical Source Lines of Code (SLOC)
- 37,273
- Development Effort Estimate, Person-Years (Person-Months)
- 8.93 (107.20)
- Schedule Estimate, Years (Months)
- 1.23 (14.77)
- Estimated Average Number of Developers (Effort/Schedule)
- 7.26
- Total Estimated Cost to Develop
- $ 1,206,718
So, 7.26 developers working for 1.23 years at a cost of $1.2 million. Of course, lines of code is not the best measure, but it's still kind of neat.
37,273 Lines of code? wow!
I think I speak for all of your customers when I say, we really appreciate all the effort you've put into skEdit. It's a wonderful editor! And I'm excited for it's future.
