Development of skEdit v4.0 continues. The eighth beta went out to the testers a week or two ago. I plan to have one more beta, then one or two release candidates.
Any chance for a public release candidate? I really liked the skedit demo but am poised between skedit and, well, of course, Textmate. My heart says skedit; my brain says Textmate.
For what it's worth, I can't wait for 4.0. You have done an outstanding job and after trying MANY editors out there, I can write clean code so fast with skEdit. After using skEdit on nearly a daily basis for I can't even remember how long, I just wanted to say thanks on a job well done. - Ryan
I too love skEdit. However, due to some of it's limitations I've switched to Coda, which I'm very happy with for now. Can we expect skEdit 4.0 by the end of the year?
I use skedit on a daily basis. I've bought version 3.6.1, and I'll pay for v4 too. It makes me earn my salary :) I love to use it, is sooo simple but powerful. THANKS!
Please keep it simple. I only miss one feature: search all open files.
If you need any help with spanish translation, I'll be glad to help.
I see there's been some new betas released ... yet In never received any notice, despite having signed up to do so. Still running v4.0b2 (585). Can I get a copy of the new beta?

Russ Lipton on July 14, 2007 #It is a possibility, but I'm hoping that the release candidate stage is fast enough that it would not be worth the trouble of making it public.

on July 18, 2007 #Yes, v4.0 should be out by the end of the year, and hopefully sooner rather than later.
Sean Kelly on July 18, 2007 #Please let me know if you would like some help on the translation. I'd be happy to help translating skEdit into Norwegian.
I'm really looking forward to 4.0!

alfonso catron on July 25, 2007 #will version 4 be a paid update for current 3.6.1 owners?
Thy on August 1, 2007 #Yes. skEdit has always come with free upgrades.
Sean Kelly on August 1, 2007 #Could we possibly have some insight as to what is going to be included in version 4.0 (excited)
RC on August 18, 2007 #Not yet, but soon.
Sean Kelly on August 18, 2007 #I just wanted to ditto Ryan's comments. I've tried a lot of editors as well, and while Coda had some promise it didn't quite do it for me.
skEdit is great, Sean. Can't wait for 4.0.
Jesse C. on August 22, 2007 #Are you planning on including Movable type 4 syntax?
